Christmas List-Tangible Needs

So, currently there are 14 families here in Vancouver, and there are some tangible things that a family or individual could buy for Christmas for a family. I've had a few families ask me if they could buy some things for a few of the families and so now we're looking to see if there are other individuals that could support some of my friends this Christmas. So, since it's kind of late this is hard to properly coordinate, so I'm putting mostly general needs that I am aware of. I'm not putting sizes, because families range from 4 people to 9 people. However, putting together a basket for a family might look like any of these options...or a variety of them combined...

1. Umbrellas, socks, shoes, or clothes (warmer layers for winter)
2. Gift cards to places like Fred Meyer, Walmart, or Target because they allow for the purchase of a variety of potential needs like some food, toiletries or grooming essentials, shoes, clothes, etc. (These 3 locations are especially good for this reason, and because most of the Burmese families know how to get to one of these by bus-as they're still getting to know our area).
3. Monthly bus passes- All of the families ride the bus and for some DSHS provides passes but still many don't have them. You can buy these at Safeway or C-tran.
4. For kids: Things like art supplies, paints, coloring supplies, legos, are all good. Also, educational toys are great, because they can practice English with it (and maybe the stay at home moms too can learn, who aren't in the ESL classes).

Then there is one more separate need...there is one couple that are needing cell phones, as the husband is working, and the wife is volunteering lots of her time at Lutheran Community Services. The wife does a lot of interpreting for many of the Burmese families (as well as for me) as there are 3 different dialects being spoken here in Vancouver, and few interpreters. So she tutors some of the students in English, travels with many individuals to appointments with them, or helps them in many other ways as they're trying to learn our culture and their way around Vancouver. If anyone could buy one or two prepaid cellphones (like Net Ten, TracFone, or another no contract cell phone) with minutes on it that would be a significant blessing to this family. If it's possible buying a years worth on a plan would be a huge start for them.
